I remember when I started doing 3d, how the whole concept of artwork done entirely on a pc seemed foreign. My fam was never rich, so my first pc, rather a device with a keyboard and a mouse, seemed to arrive when I was in Jr. High. How my plans of being an architect took a dramatic change when there was a mix up in my High School schedule causing me to take programming, rather than French 2. Random events to some, but everything fits into place like pieces to a puzzle. I'm taking this time as a moment of reflection, judging my progress, and solidifying a direction.

I plan on really getting off my butt and getting a lot more stuff done and posted for review, something said before, I'm sure, but just roll with me. As I said before, I recall when I started, making stuff from Zelda (the video game), taking the specs and modeling the gamecube, one of my very first models posted. I made it to the plateau that I sought after, becoming a decent artist in the process. So now it's time to re-introduce myself.

Naturally, I pondered creating a new name, persona, whatnot, but in contemplation, this is me. Yea somethings are crappy, and will probably get deleted, nevertheless, its all part of the process. For all the newcomers, beginning artists, we all have to start somewhere.

I can't go any farther without mentioning my on line friends, hmmm, scratch that, my family.

Well I took a hiatus from DA, not as so much this particular site, but the chaos of being online in general. I wish there was something really deep or inspired to say, but, there isn't. Yea yeah, I've been away for a while, but absence makes the heart grow fonder, umm, yea, so they say....

....Anyway, I've been on an artistic hiatus, absorbing other styles, forms, and ways to express ones inner being. I must say I'm very blessed in life from job to friends, which always seem to be there for input and insight. As for my 3D passion, it's still there, naturally, but I'm working to move past the technical aspects of modeling and lighting to a more purely asthetic emotional vibe. Long story short, less eyecandy, I never said that I would stop all eyecandy.

As far as work, hummm, it's work. Sadly there have been times which have caused for some shortcuts or sup par models, but thats to be expected when the rules or 3 apply. (for the ones that don't know, in 3D, you can have 2 of the following three things, speed, quality, and/or cheep.

So I've been MIA for a while huh, well I've been busy on the real, so please forgive me if I've neglected some things. So for all that are concerned, lemmie recap this joint.

Work - I've taken a job in North Atlanta, Advanced Graphics Director, not bad for a self taught country boy from Mississippi. But it's a joy to do what you enjoy doing and getting a nice check for it. Only negative side would be having to sometimes release something that doesn't meet my standards just to get the project done. All in all, that's life I suppose.

Home - Connected with the whole job thing is getting used to this traffic, I mean when it rains in atlanta, people loose their dayum minds. Aside from that, it's a pleasure to call this my home.

Connections - I can never forget my friends and associates that have been there to critique my work till it wasn't anything left. These people have made me stronger and a much better artist than I could have become on my own. I'm still working on the animated shot, Grass Stains, and with my new connections in the ATL, well I may have a much larger stage to show it on. Also working on a new concept, can't tell you much because it's really diffrent.


I hope to post some things more regularly, no comment on how to define regular. lol

I've been very busy recently with art projects, education, and basically real life. I've been working on the Bathroom render, as well as a patio project (renders to come soon), so my reality sadly involves UV mapping and Lighting Setups. Along with work, I'm also planning a personal project, my personal demo reel v.3. Sadly v.1 turned out like crap, so I remixed it with v.2, which was very much an improvement, but still, it's not what I would use to identify myself.

..::.. Life
Recently I've had the pleasure to talk with some new peeps online, oddly, some of which I've known and admired, but never actually sat down and chatted. First to mind, JazzyChan, so cool, and somewhat erratic, so naturally we vibe. Next up, my new homegirl aNgLnDiSgUyZz (please note that she isn't on DA), but that means nothing to me, as well as a few other peeps. Sorry of you've been neglected in IMs, but you know how it is. Oddly, why is it that women cannot believe that there are brothas out here that can cook, and yes, I mean cook?
